Our verdict
The GC-SC 18/28 Li makes most sense if you already have Einhell Power X-Change batteries: it is a 28cm blade scarifier that needs just one 18 V battery, with a brushless motor and three working depths. Einhell recommends it for lawns up to about 200 m², depending on the battery, which matches the small-to-medium gardens where cordless is most convenient.
The variant trap is what is in the box. This is the "solo" version, so there is no battery or charger, and the collection bag and aerator roller are separate accessories. Einhell also sells kits with a battery, and a 36 V model with a wider roller. Note that Einhell's feature list says 3-stage depth adjustment while its technical table lists four steps, and the listing weight (6.65 kg) differs from the maker's 5.93 kg.
Accessories worth knowing about
Without the collection bag, raked-out thatch is left on the lawn for you to rake up, which the RHS says you should remove anyway. The optional aerator roller adds a lighter raking pass; it is not a substitute for spiking compacted soil with a fork.
